Can you remember your very first WOD – what was it?

My first WOD was half Cindy and I was stiff and sore for 3 days after!

What’s your favourite workout or lift and why?

My favourite workout is probably Grace, it’s heavy but still a sprint, and my favourite lifts are the Squat Clean and Back Squats.  I enjoy being able to move heavy weights.

What motivated you to join the community at Fortis?

I have trained with a lot of the founding members and coaches at Fortis for a few years and have become good friends with all of them.  I really enjoy training and socialising with them.  I trust and respect their coaching and advise and really enjoy the support and encouragement I have received

What are your goals for this year?

Progress my handstand walking; protecting my back and a sub 1:25 minute 500m row – I know it’s a long list!

What are you enjoying most about training at Fortis?

I enjoy seeing new members being introduced to and enjoying functional fitness.  I love the community aspect and well thought out programming too, the coaches are extremely dedicated. I also enjoy the odd throw-down and some competitive rivalry.

Tell us one interesting fact or something we don’t know about you

I like reading and long walks on the beach…..NOT!  I used to play rep level hockey; held the 100m, 200m, and long jump and shot put records while at school.  I used to suffer from bad asthma and spent a lot of time in oxygen tents as a toddler
