INTRODUCING: Rob

Can you remember your very first WOD – what was it

No idea what the WOD was, but it was the first day at FortisFSC. I went half speed and half the weights and was sore for two days afterwards, BUT it felt great that I made it through the next session!

What’s your favourite workout or lift and why?

I like all the lifts. Upper body is a real challenge. Especially handstand push ups, but who would think that the first one I have ever done would be at the age of 47! I love the challenge set out and achieving it.

What motivated you to join the community at Fortis?

I was at another gym and quit because the timing didn’t suit. I then heard that Fortis was starting up and some of the best trainers were on the team.

What are your goals for this year?

To stick at it for at least 12 months. To complete 10 strict pull ups. At my weight, bench 110%, squat 120%, deadlift 150%

What are you enjoying most about training at Fortis?

I love that Fortis is run by and full of such a great group of people who love feeling alive and staying fit.

Tell us one interesting fact or something we don’t know about you

I was a paramedic for over 9 years in Canada. Loved the job, hated the shift work and 2am Big Macs.
