Why Strength Cycles Work: Building Progress You Can See and Feel! 🏋️‍♀️

At Fortis, we’re always looking for ways to help you train smarter, not just harder. That’s why you’ll often hear us talking about strength cycles. But what exactly does that mean and why do we keep coming back to them?

A strength cycle is a structured block of training designed to progressively build your strength over time. Instead of random workouts, each session has a purpose - laying the foundation, adding intensity and finally testing your limits. The cycle gives your body time to adapt, recover and then push beyond what you thought was possible.

We’ve just kicked off a new strength cycle in the gym and for many of our members, this means gearing up for competition season. But whether you’re chasing a PB on the platform or simply wanting to feel stronger in your day-to-day training, the benefits are the same:

  • Consistency - Cycles keep your training focused and purposeful

  • Progression - Each week builds on the last, helping you avoid plateaus

  • Confidence - Testing your strength at the end of a cycle shows you just how far you’ve come

Strength cycles aren’t just for elite athletes - they’re for anyone who wants to make their training count. So as we head into the next few weeks, stay committed, track your wins - big and small - and remember: every lift adds up!!

September Update – Fortis Fitness 💪

September has been all about putting in the hard yards - building our cardio fitness and conditioning - and WOW has the team stepped up! From rowing, biking and running to high-intensity sessions, everyone has been pushing their limits and proving that consistency really does pay off. 👏

Our Fit Kids and Teen Angels closed out Term 3 with an absolute bang showing grit, determination and plenty of smiles along the way. Their energy and commitment has been inspiring and we couldn’t be prouder of the progress they’ve made 💖

We also want to give a massive shout-out to our members who are taking part in the Blue September Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer. The effort, strength, and community spirit on display has been incredible💙. There’s still time to support the cause and donate if you’d like to get behind our crew - every push-up and every dollar counts!

With the school holidays now here, some of us are looking forward to a well-deserved breather before we roll into Term 4. It’s the perfect chance to recharge, reset and come back ready to tackle new challenges including some exciting goals and competitions as we head towards the end of the year.

Here’s to spring sunshine, stronger bodies and plenty more Fortis moments together. Let’s finish 2025 feeling fitter, faster and stronger than ever! 🌟
